*** If you can correct my text I would appreciate that very much! Thanks in advance 😊 Topic: In the past, many people had skills such as making their own clothes and doing repairs to things in the house. In many countries, nowadays, skills like these are disappearing. Why do you think this change is happening? How far is this situation true in your country? Time is changing very fast. We are witnesses that some skills which were very useful and popular for people are now almost gone, vanished. Same situation is in my country too. It is hard to explain why exactly is this happening, and I think that many factors are responsible for that. Mainly because of our living style that is so fast. But I don’t find this very bad. Few years ago we were not able to have some basic things, like we have today, because it was very expensive for wider society. Many factories have had monopoly on the market and for example we had only one type of the car, one type TV, one type telephone and so on. Choice was extremely limited. Because of globalization many of those things are affordable today, and we do not need to repair mostly anything since there are on the market cheaper versions of the cars, TVs, mobile phones and so on. I remember also that my mother used to sew my socks, trousers, shirts and other clothes since it was expensive to by a new one. Now we can simply buy new pair of those things for very affordable prices and not need to lose our precious time in repairing. On the other side, some skills have become more paid now. For example, if you have to call a constructor, electrician or plumber, prepare yourself that you will pay him some serious money to fix your problem. Additionally, we are becoming more lazy and addicted for other people’s help in the future. Personally I believe that everybody of us should be able to do some smaller reparations either in our home, or clothes, or car and not to allow to be depended especially to other people. We just need to believe.
