Professional TeacherHOW SAYING ONE THING, CAN MEAN ANOTHER
(English Language Chronicles)
So.....While trying to reschedule a lesson with one of my students ,he asked "Can we have our lesson NEXT FRIDAY ?". In my understanding "Next Friday" meant the friday of the following week. Meanwhile my student meant "This Friday" which was the "Friday of the same week".
Needless to say, when "his Friday" came, he was ready and expecting me while I was ready for the following week.
Oh well, In the end we had language learning point from our misunderstanding.
