For formal lessons, I make individual lesson plans for each student and use pdf, real-life materials (menus, etc.) and textbooks.
For informal sessions, I don't make lesson plans. Students prepare a topic and focus on conversation. Informal sessions are aimed at intermediate to advanced students, as a certain level of proficiency is required to manage a somewhat fluid conversation.My teaching material

I enjoy my sessions with kyomi! she does a great job at explaining topics as well as utilizing real world things to help practice conversational skills. for instance we use the menu so I can learn how to order and how to get around inside of a restaurant. she also is an author of a helpful Japanese learning workbook that I have purchased and I'm currently using side by side with the homework that she gives me!

She is a great teacher! I am completely new to Japanese, and in our first lesson, she really helped me feel comfortable with starting to learn the new alphabet and pronunciation and basic words. I am looking forward to our next lesson! :)
