I was born in San Diego, CA and grew up on the coast. I currently reside in Yalova, Turkey with my wife.
I have tutored English learners for years as a freelance tutor (It's how I met my wife) but eventually moved on to work with VIPKid teaching children of all ages. I am comfortable teaching both children and adults.
I believe the most important thing a language teacher can do is make the student feel comfortable. When a student is not comfortable is it can greatly inhibit the learning process. So, I strive to create a relaxed atmosphere where students can develop the confidence to speak.
In general, I tailor my lessons to match what the student wants to learn. If you prefer a more regimented class where we draw from an English textbook, I am happy to oblige. If you would rather have a conversational class where we can focus on speaking for fluency, that too can be arranged.My teaching material

Great teacher, honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had so far.
I felt completely at ease, which for me is crucial to actually speak and improve. His accent is very clear, but what really makes the difference is his attitude: calm, supportive, never judgmental.
The lesson felt fluid and engaging, not stressful or overly technical. Corrections are given in a smart way, without interrupting the flow, and that really helps build confidence. I spoke a lot and never felt under pressure, which is exactly what I was looking for!
Highly recommended if you want to improve your English seriously but in a relaxed, motivating environment. Looking forward to continuing!

Me gustó la clase porque aprendí vocabulario de la vida cotidiana, cultura y costumbres de diferentes países y role plays. El profesor siempre me corrige durante la clase y dejan los apuntes de clase para repasar. Lo recomiendo
