Hello! I'm Scott Gaines. I was born in the United States near Kansas City, Missouri. Now I live in Seattle, Washington. I love traveling, reading, and learning about other cultures and languages. I lived and taught in South Korea for 7 years, and I have also traveled to Iceland, Italy, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan. I love meeting people from all over the world, and I would love to meet you and learn more about you! I have a Cambridge CELTA teaching certificate and a Master's Degree in Linguistics from UCLA. I have been teaching English for 15 years, including 6 years at Gyeongsang National University in Jinju, South Korea. I have also taught English for Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California. I am currently an adjunct professor of Linguistics at Santa Monica College. I have taught English to all age groups from children to adult professionals (including CEOs), and I have taught students from 15 countries. My specialties are conversation practice, pronunciation / accent reduction, and grammar practice. My classes focus on conversation in a casual and relaxed setting.
