Olá! I’m André, a native Portuguese and Spanish tutor from Lisbon, Portugal.
I currently teach students from all over the world, helping them learn European Portuguese in a fun, effective, and personalized way. I speak five languages and recently completed my degree in Translation and a specialization in Teaching has always been my biggest passion.

I started teaching Portuguese online back in 2019 and have worked with over 400 students since then, from total beginners who only knew how to say “Olá” to advanced learners trying to sound like natives. Every student has helped me grow as a teacher, and that’s one of the things I love most about this job.My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are completely tailored to your goals, whether you want to improve pronunciation, build vocabulary, master grammar, or boost your listening skills. The three main pillars of our classes will be listening, speaking, and reading, with a strong focus on conversation.
My approach is intuitive and interactive. I’ll encourage you to speak a lot — because the more you talk, the more you’ll learn from your mistakes and grow. I’m here to guide you, but you’ll also have the freedom to bring your own materials or ideas to class. Portuguese and Spanish TutorThis NGO, based in Lebanon, aims to provide language classes to students from all over the world via Zoom. During my time there, I had the opportunity to teach both Spanish and Portuguese to over 200 students. This experience has given me a deep understanding of what effective teaching looks like.

I've only had 2 lessons with him but so far Andre is very good. He doesn't waste time. He gets right to the point. His lessons are very structured and professional. If you want to really learn the Portuguese language I strongly recommend Andre. It's like going to a school with him, not just some person talking to you but ACTUAL learning.

He's very good and keeping a conversation going and helping me with my mistakes. He quickly writes words I need to know so I can repeat the sentences I say correctly. And he's meeting me at my level, which is fairly advanced, but I have lots of holes in my Portuguese because I never studied it systematically. I can read and understand pretty well but sometimes don't know the correct conjugations of a verb or how to construct a complicated tense like past unreal conditional or subjunctive future. He is very patient and helpful, so I recommend him and give him 5 stars and extra sunshine!

André is an excellent teacher. He was well organized with a plan for the session. He wrote notes of the class, including things that he was teaching me. He had very high energy and I learned a tremendous amount during a very short period of time. It made me wonder why I hadn’t started doing this earlier. I will be continuing with André and would recommend him highly.
