I am a very fun, kind and compassionate person. I love to spend time with friends, family and with my cat! I am a great cook and I love to exercise and to explore nature. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where I majored in Anthropology and Spanish and Portuguese Literature. I love to speak foreign languages and am always happy to help others learn them. I love teaching because it is a great way to get to know all of the amazing people in this world :)Me as a Teacher
I have been a teacher for almost 10 years now! I think one of the most important things is for a student to have FUN in class so that they always want to come back. Besides being a teacher, I was a Teacher Trainer for two years in Nicaragua- I helped teach teachers how to teach! I focus on communicative methods since most traditional schooling does not include these. I use teacher books, art, videos, and interactive crafts in class. I think it is important to make sure classes are varied so the classroom never becomes a monotonous place.

My teaching style is student-centered, so I focus my teaching around what the student needs and requests. I like to use a 4-MAT teaching pedagogy- some important steps are 1) Motivation- this is where we have fun and get ready for what we will earn. We activate our minds with what we know already so we can connect with the new material. 2) Information- this is where new information is provided by the teacher. 3) Practice- this is where the student practices the new information with the teacher. 4) Application- this is where the student applies and uses the new information in a more independent manner. The most important part is- FUN- making the classroom a happy, enjoyable place.My teaching material

Let me tell you this to all: Steve is a PRO with kids! He really transmit magic, so engaing! My 6-years old daughter was most than happy with him all the time during the class! Amazing, he took all the opportunities with her to engange. Was a really awesome first class. We will be with Steve a looong time. He is a PRO for kids!
