Hello! My name is Mariana, and I'm from the United States. I have a bachelor's degree in English and Education from the University of Denver and a master's degree in English Literature from Simmons College. I also have a 120 hour TEFL certification from TEFL UK. I have been teaching in the classroom and online for more than nine years. I taught middle school humanities for five years in Boston - reading, writing, grammar, and history. I absolutely loved being in the classroom, but I also wanted to travel. I spent one year in China teaching EFL in the classroom. I currently live in Bali, Indonesia, and I have been teaching EFL classes online for four years.Me as a Teacher
I believe that all students have the right to a learning environment in which they feel safe and appreciated, they are held to high expectations, and they have the room and support necessary to grow. It is my aim to always create that kind of classroom culture. I believe I owe it to my students and the communities they are a part of to bring consistency, curiosity, and warmth to my role as a teacher.My lessons & teaching style
The most important aspect of my relationship with my students is that I get to know their goals and the things they are interested in. That way, our classes together can remain student driven. I am able to design lesson plans that align what the student wants or needs to achieve. I have experience teaching all levels and ages of students, from beginner to native-level, from 3 to 65 years of age. We can work on vocabulary, grammar, listening and speaking, reading comprehension, and writing.My teaching material
