Classes as Fun as Your Favorite Show, as Focused as Your Favorite Book—6 Years Teaching 🎉🗣️📖🤓💡 Hi! I'm Mafe, from Miami, Florida, US. I came to Barcelona and never left. I really wanted to create something dynamic and enjoyable because that's what learning should feel like. So here we learn through books. Novels, poetry, short stories, real literature. Because that's how language actually lives, in stories, in context. Comprehensible input is how we all learned our first language naturally, and it's exactly how I teach. I love connecting through stories and real conversations. And that's the foundation of everything I do in my classes. My love for books is also how I ended up organising a monthly book club here in the city. And when I'm not reading I'm probably watching reality shows, sitcoms or documentaries. Always ready to talk about whatever you're watching. And I've been teaching English for six years, three of them here in Barcelona. My method is based on storytelling and comprehensible input, which is basically how we all learned our first language. Nobody gave us a list of rules when we were little. We were told stories, spoken to, surrounded by the language. That's what I do in my classes. I work with all levels, from phonics with beginners to critical thinking with more advanced students. And I'm patient, warm, direct, and making mistakes is part of the process. In my class a mistake doesn't make you a bad student, it makes you human.
