Halló everyone! My name is Mómó, originally from Japan but I moved to Iceland about 8 years ago. I have bachelors in Icelandic and education, studied in University of Iceland and Kio university in Nara. I'm very passionate about language. I speak English, Icelandic, Japanese and some Norwegian. Learning Finnish is my next goal:) Here in italki, I teach Icelandic and Japanese! I'm a qualified teacher in primary school and currently working as a Icelandic teacher. I love teaching to children but I also enjoy teaching to adults who has great interest in languages. Since I'm not native Icelandic speaker, I know how hard to learn Icelandic as second language. I also studied Icelandic from zero knowledge like all of you! Therefore I'm able to give practical advice regarding how to study Icelandic as a second/ third language. In my class, we will use an online textbook so you don't need to purchase any! Of course if you have preference, that's fine too. The textbook is in PDF, we also use an audio / video materials. I usually make an additional power-point document that you would receive before the classes so that you can prepare yourself! I would like to give you a homework. Icelandic is such a difficult language and there are a lot of things to remember. Homework assignments helps you to learn language faster. Mómó is a fantastic Icelandic teacher with amazing resources and always has interesting insights into Icelandic culture. I feel comfortable asking questions and discussing any topic. In my fourth lesson, we reviewed previous lesson material and moved right along into learning new grammar and vocabulary. I´m really learning a lot during each session!
