Me as a Teacher
I taught over 6000 online lessons in Danish, one-on-one. I started teaching online 10 years ago. Before then, I was teaching English (one-on-one) in China. I passed a lot of long and short courses in teaching and studying techniques. I am supportive and patient, and very understanding, because I study a language myself :) With a well prepared student we change activity every 5 - 10 minutes. I give help with efficient studying techniques. I teach adults :)
My lessons & teaching style
My goal for a lesson is to hear you speak Danish minimum half of the lesson :)
BEGINNERS: The first 6 to 10 lessons we focus on pronunciation and (simple) conversation: questions and answers. I make pronunciation a lot easier with simple phonetics. We start simple conversation from our first lesson. Pronunciation often includes practicing problem sounds, so 2 - 3 weekly lessons are optimal the first 6 lessons.
INTERMEDIATE: We focus on listening and speaking, and sentence building. We have conversation, exercises of all kinds, impromptu, dictation, role plays, you name it. If we identify gaps in your basics, we fill in. I send you a lesson plan with homework after the lesson, same day.

Jørgen always has me read, listen, speak, and corrects pronunciation. He uses the time very effectively. Class is fun and I learn a lot. I'm already looking forward to studying and eagerly anticipating my next lesson in 7 days.

It is a pleasure to learn Danish with Jørgen. He is a patient teacher, and helps me a lot to improv my pronounciation, by writing very simply the phonetics.
I feel like I have already gained a lot of confidence in trying more often to speak Danish, after only a few classes!
Recommended teacher :)

I learn and have fun in class. Jørgen is patient and explains well. And I learn something every class. He gives me things to work on outside of class which will give me more opportunities for learning and feedback once I have more time.

My teacher is attentive to where I need the most help. He takes time to explain and then we move on. He is very good at using the time effectively. I tend to want to resolve a difficulty to perfection when I encounter a difficulty (which is often). However, I see the value in moving along after working on an issue a little bit. I'm beginning to see that the language learning is cumulative and there is always another opportunity for correction. Moving along is key and I'm trying to also implement this into my studying at home. His methods are very helpful.
