Hey! My name is Lygia, and I teach personalized one-on-one language lessons. Though I teach general courses, my specialization is LSP (Language for Specific Purposes) This means I create tailored courses for those who have a specific focus in mind! Whether it's advancing from a level where you feel stuck, preparing for an interview, migrating, regaining fluency when you feel you've forgotten a lot, using the language at work, chatting with in-laws, traveling, understanding your favorite songs and books—anything! For some students, this means we will study only a handful of topics. For others, it means learning the whole language from where you are, but focusing more on certain topics.

I really enjoy my lessons with Lygia. She is a wealth of knowledge on the history of Brasil and she is incredibly patient when I'm trying to grapple with these tricky topics. I am feeling more confident speaking Portuguese after every lesson with her. It has been such a good investment to continue achieving progress with my language learning as I've struggled with this over the years learning by myself.

I've thoroughly enjoy my lessons with Lygia. I had started conversation classes with her before my trip to Brazil. It was a great investment, that made me feel like I got to understand the country and people more than the average tourist with zero Portuguese knowledge. Lygia is such a pleasure to chat to, she is enthusiastic and patient. I look forward to continuing my weekly classes with her.

I've been taking lessons with Lygia for 3 months now and she has been amazing! I started not knowing much and my ability to speak and understand Portuguese has gotten so much better. She provide a really good course structure that is easy to follow and she makes classes really fun as well.
