Over 8350 lessons! 25 years teaching experience. A kind, funny, patient, native English speaker. Huge thanks to all my lovely students. 8350 iTalki lessons and more! I've been teaching for over twenty-five years. I'm British, a photographer living in France, and I really like to help people who are learning English to achieve the best they can. I help adult learners speak English confidently in real conversations—without translating in their head. My lessons focus on fluency, correction, and helping you sound natural when you speak. One of the biggest hurdles to learning is low confidence. I offer patient, well-paced, appropriate teaching to students that seeks to raise confidence, and motivates great conversation. Over twenty-five years I've gained a strong reputation for quality online teaching, and a high professional standard of delivery and support. Lessons are typically discussion-based (free talk), and offer points of grammar, and discuss idioms. We'll read, talk, and listen, together. My teaching adapts to the needs of the student. I especially help students who feel stuck understanding English but struggle to speak naturally.

His lesson was fantastic! I enjoyed it very much, because he was relaxed me and gave me confident to speak during lesson. I'm looking forward to next lesson.

Laurence is one of those rare gifted teachers who make you feel comfortable from the very first hour. Lesson after lesson I feel much more confident, and I suspect it is mainly due to his ability to put you at ease. Not judgmental, careful, competent, professional...his lessons are always a pleasure and an opportunity for growth, not only linguistic, but also personal. Thank you very much indeed!

I took my first trial lesson on Italki with a little anxiety, but Laurance was able to put me at ease right away. Thank you for the wonderful lesson.

Oggi ho fatto la seconda lezione con Laurence, un insegnante preparato con un approccio davvero particolare. Lezione molto interessante e stimolante, diversa dalle altre che, credo saprà dare i suoi frutti.
