Hi, I'm Natalie. I have been helping people with their English communication skills since 2018. I am half Greek and half English but have spent most of my life in the UK. After spending five years living abroad, I have returned to the UK and now live in the south of England. I spend my free time thinking of creative ways to teach English, learning new skills such as 3D modelling, and animation, and spending time with my friends and family. I adore having philosophical conversations and a simple coffee, but partaking in deep discussions is one of my favourite ways to spend my free time. I also love to work out, so I jump rope or do something active regularly.
Me as a Teacher
I have taught children and young adults throughout my teaching career, and have been teaching online since 2018. I hold a 150-hour TESOL qualification which was taken in a classroom setting in Vietnam. I adore teaching English, I am lucky to have made this my full-time career and have taught for over 10,000 hours online. I am currently in the process of completing a degree in Languages & Linguistics, and I hope to improve the efficiency of language learning with EdTech, and progressive teaching methodologies.
My lessons & teaching style
Lessons take place in Minecraft Bedrock edition, with the addition of Zoom or Skype for video & audio access. So students will need to have both platforms open during lessons. I use task-based learning and communicative language teaching to design lessons. Tasks can be simple or complex, depending on the length of the package, and a student's English level. The communicative approach means that I design tasks that require communication, enabling students to acquire the ability to use English spontaneously and accurately, through authentic and meaningful conversation. I focus on fluency, accuracy, and accent clarification.

I enjoy taking Natalie’s class myself since she always know what exactly I am asking for. She also ask me right questions which have positive influence not only on my English but also overall way of thinking.

Even if you're an adult learner, I strongly recommend you try gaming-based lessons. Natalie is absolutely great at creating a healthy learning environment without being or sounding condescending. I was never afraid to make a mistake, on the contrary I felt confident enough to freely 'experiment' and use some words I wasn't sure about without worrying too much. I also appreciate that there's always a 'plan', before and after the lesson, so the actual session doesn't feel isolated but part of a wider activity. She's also very open to suggestions and ideas, so when we discussed what my needs and aims were I felt like I was playing a part in defining my own goals. I couldn’t be happier, I finally found what (and who) I was looking for on this platform.

Cool lessons with Minecraft! The children don't even realise they are learning! They are very interested. They look forward to each lesson and even ask for homework. In a short time they have casually learned to speak in sentences! I am thrilled with the teaching method!

Natalie is a great teacher who strikes a good balance between play and learning. She motivates the children to try out new things, responds very well to the different needs of the children and manages to find the right teaching method for my children, who are so different. While one is very good with corrections, the other is very shy and corrections would tend to demotivate him. She recognizes this and responds very well to him and both have made so much progress with her in the last year. We are very grateful to have her.
