Hello my name is Cynthia. I am a native English speaker, born and bred in South Africa. I am a 25 year old female who is vibrant, funny, approachable and welcoming. I completed my National diploma in Marketing management in 2019 from The Central University of Technology and my 120 hours TEFL certificate this year from TEFL Universal which means I am certified to teach English as a Foreign Language. originating from the diverse South Africa, it is only inevitable to value diversity. I enjoy reading, writing music and watching movies.Me as a Teacher
I strongly believe that excellence is achieved through competence. I always work towards creating and maintaining appropriate and professional relationships in the classroom. I have learned that it is vital to do a needs analysis and understand my students' differences rather than generalizing or using a one-size-fits-all approach, this also includes identifying the students' learning preferences. Every learning material is structured around the interests and strengths of my students. I also incorporate variety in my classroom to make it lively and interactive. In this kind of profession Continuing Professional Development is very important which is why I strive to continuously improve .My lessons & teaching style
In my lessons the emphasis is always on communication in English. I understand very well that as a teacher my role is to facilitate, help and advice my learners and also to be a language resource. My lessons are always learner-centered which means Student Talking Time is prioritized, allowing the students to participate and interact. The main aim of my lessons is for my students to be able to communicate and express themselves effectively, fluently and confidently in English. My lessons are formulated to help students with communicative English, day-to-day conversations, interview preparations or simply just improving grammar, pronunciation and growing vocabulary.My teaching material
