Hello!
I'm Laura, I'm 41 and I live in Yorkshire in the north of England. My day job is creating stock imagery for book covers and I'm an online English tutor! I have a degree in Media & Psychology, a 120 hour TEFL certificate and I'm currently doing a 30 hour IELTS prep course.
I love TV series (I used to work in television), movies, music, walking in the countryside, pub quizzes, I play the piano and I have 2 dogs and 2 ducks! I'm also learning to code for fun in my spare time.
I'm (very slowly) learning Spanish and I've taken lessons on italki, so I know what it's like to be the student. I'm a native English speaker with a neutral northern English accent.Me as a Teacher
I'm told that I'm very easy to talk to with a casual, friendly teaching style. Students tell me that my accent is easy to understand and that I speak clearly. It's important to feel at ease with your teacher and to enjoy lessons. The more you enjoy them, the more you learn!
I understand that life happens, so don't worry if you need to cancel or rearrange a lesson, even at the last minute.
Remember that I teach and speak in British English rather than American English.
My lessons are for adults aged 18 and over.

I can help you to improve your English in various different ways! Simple conversation is such a great way to learn and practice. I love teaching British idioms and slang in every day conversation but I can also help you with grammar, pronunciation and corrections. I will note down helpful corrections as we talk, I will review them with you at the end of the lesson and then send my notes to you in a screenshot. I can also help with interview prep, reading and writing skills.
