Indigenous Guatemalan Spanish & English teacher | Socratic method and culture I am an indigenous Guatemalan, currently living in Quetzaltenango (Xela), but I was born and raised in Quiché. I went to college in the United States and Canada where I earned a degree in Liberal Arts. I am passionate about languages, cultures, books, art, philosophy and meaningful conversations. Also, half of my heart belongs to Brno, Czechia, and if you wanna know why, don't hesitate to ask me during class ;) I have been teaching Spanish and English on iTalki for more than 5 years. Many of my students come to me because they want more than grammar practice: they want real conversations and cultural exchange. Many are especially interested in Guatemala, Latin America, and learning from an indigenous perspective. My classes are conversational and guided by the Socratic method. I lead the conversation by asking questions, helping you develop your ideas, and encouraging you to speak as much as possible in a relaxed, natural way. During class, I usually keep a shared document open where I write new vocabulary, grammar corrections, useful phrases, and important points from our conversation. This lets you speak freely without constant interruptions, while still leaving the lesson with clear notes to review later. My main goal is to help you feel comfortable speaking your target language with a native speaker. Whether you want to improve fluency, talk about culture, prepare for travel, or simply lose the fear of speaking, I can help you build confidence step by step :)
