Hi everyone! My name is Crystal, and I’m a native English speaker from Canada with a passion for language learning and cultural exchange. I am TEFL certified and have been teaching English online since 2024, to both kids and adults, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. ✈️ I know exactly what it feels like to land in a new country without knowing a single word—I did it at 17 when I moved to Turkey for 10 months as a high school exchange student. Since then, I’ve also experienced living in Indonesia, Spain, Singapore, Korea, and Thailand, picking up new languages and cultural insights along the way. In July 2026, I also moved to Japan for a working holiday for one year and now I'm learning Japanese. Having lived in several different countries and studied various different languages, I fully understand the challenges of mastering a new language. Currently, I am studying Thai and Japanese, and my teaching methods are very much rooted in my own experiences as a student. 📙My lessons focus on helping you speak more confidently and fluently. I provide resources such as short news articles, textbook exercises, discussion questions, videos, or images to guide our discussions during class. If writing is one of your goals, we can also work on that together and review corrections in class. During each lesson, I will provide a Google Docs file where I note down new vocabulary, useful expressions, and corrections so you can review after the lesson.
