Hi everybody! I'm Melike from Turkey. I’m an experienced English Language Teacher with 18 years of teaching students of all ages and levels. I love learning, teaching, traveling, meeting new people, and discovering cultures, languages, and history. In my free time, I enjoy reading, documentaries, DIY projects, cooking, and animals. I believe teaching is both art and guidance—understanding each student’s needs, motivating them, and making lessons enjoyable. In our first lesson, I’ll listen to your goals, and together we’ll create a personalized plan for speaking, grammar, reading, or writing. Let’s succeed together!
I believe that being teacher is like being an actress. You observe, analyze and finally act for the students. Sometime you are their best friend, sometimes a mother bird who pushes to teach fly, sometimes a psychologist who has to comfort to bring them in to the class, sometimes football commentator… If you are good at acting, you get the students’ attention so learning is inevitable.
During my 15 years working life as a teacher, I had chance to meet thousands of different aged students in every level. By this way I improve my teaching skills so I can understand your feelings, needs and expectations. You are in the center and I will be the guide.
I have been working as a teacher for 15 years so I can say that every lesson has to be specialized for each student, including their learning language level, ways of learning and interests, etc.

Melike is a super teacher, always high-energy and a real professional. She provides exercises, which are worked through in class with a focus on speaking, or given as homework. She provides all vocabulary from the exercises as flashcards via Quizlet, as well as a custom Quizlet deck from our lessons. She also sends links for videos with the vocabulary and grammar for each class.
She is truly an experienced professional and can provide explanations for difficult grammar concepts, tips and tricks for navigating pitfalls of learning Turkish, as well,if wanted, short explanations of linguistic history and patterns to help understand and memorise new words and phrases. I highly recommend her classes!

Melike is the best! My level is somewhere between A2, with some B1 grammar I know but can't always utilize well! Lessons with Me like have been so helpful in solidifying my foundation in the language. Outside of class, I am improving my reading comprehension by reading stories and improving my grammar with exercises at my level. Melike also assigns/recommends TV shows to watch, which I have found so fun and useful for getting the necessary exposure to Turkish throughout the week. During class we focus primarily on reviewing my grammar exercises and improving my speaking skills by explaining my week or the Turkish story I read or show I watched during the week. Melike's patience and constant encouragement has been crucial in keeping me motivated!
