I live in the Caribbean island of Antigua, where I teach High School Science specializing in Biology. I was born in Guyana South America and I have lived in Brazil for about eight years where I studied Vet Med. I love animals and enjoy nature, so dipping in the ocean is one of my favorite pastimes. I am an avid reader and journaling keeps me focused. I have always enjoyed working with students, sharing knowledge and learning from them.Me as a Teacher
Teaching has been very rewarding to me over the years as I do have a passion for assisting my students with their learning goals. I have privately tutored both younger students and adults, and genuinely enjoy helping persons reach their potential. My communication skills have allowed me to successfully reach students at various levels.
I do rely somewhat on my own personal experiences both as a student and a teacher when dealing with individuals. It is important for me to support and encourage my students, which ultimately leads to them building confidence. Once students believe in themselves, they are more likely to engage in conversation and attain better communication skills.My lessons & teaching style
Discussions with students on a variety of topics, while making them feel comfortable enough to engage and share their opinions. Generally being patient and always adapting my teaching style to meet the needs of each learner. Allowing students to decide whether they prefer a freer more informal format or a structured lesson. Correcting errors in a kind manner and getting to know their strengths and areas that need improvement.My teaching material

It was a real pleasure to resume studying and conversing in English with Ranleen. Ranleen is nice, attentive, patient, friendly, helpful.
