Maiko（まいこ）

Maiko-Sensei is a wonderful teacher to work with. She's patient and very good at explaining grammar that I have trouble with. Her lessons have been very engaging and informative. She gives me a lot of opportunity to practice what we're learning, and there is enough variety to keep me engaged. I tend to get nervous when I don't understand or don't know a word or grammar point, but Maiko-Sensei is always very patient and explains it in a way that's easy to understand. She's one of the best teachers I've worked with when learning Japanese!

I've now had several lessons with まいこーさん. I myself am a slow learner, but even I have made leaps and bounds of progress from when I started. They've been invaluable and have given me the chance to both practice the area I've struggled with the most (Japanese conversation), and also put everything I had been studying in my own time into practice. I still need to improve a whole lot more of course, so I 'm looking forward to the next lesson.

In this class we started a new lesson. Maiko-sensei checked my kanji learning very carefully. I also learned a lot. Her class was as pleasant as chatting. Thank you very much for her patience and gentleness.

Maiko-sensei is simply wonderful. I have been taking weekly lessons with her for almost a year and I feel that my level of comfort and proficiency in Japanese has improved tremendously. I had taken Japanese classes in college and got to the N2 level of the JLPT, but then didn't study or use Japanese at all for about 8 years. Maiko-sensei immediately understood my needs as a learner and put together lesson plans that are helping me tackle my weaknesses, especially grammar. I am very excited to continue learning with her and I can't recommend her lessons enough.
