I highly recommend Mio as a tutor to anyone who is learning Japanese! I've been taking lessons with her for over two years and have gone from a complete beginner to having passed the JLPT N5 exam and am now working towards taking the N4 exam. I would attribute most of this success to my lessons with Mio. As a tutor Mio is very organized, with each lesson building on the previous ones organically. Each lesson will focus on one or two core concepts so that I've never felt overwhelmed with new grammar, which can easily happen when learning Japanese. Also, she is very articulate and is always able to help me understand the nuances of different grammar points when I ask. Lastly, Mio is very easy to talk to and will find ways to integrate my interests and hobbies (outside of studying Japanese) into example sentences in the classroom. Mio is an exceptional teacher and I would encourage others to utilize her as a resource in their Japanese learning journeys!

Learning with Mio has been a great experience! She offers a fantastic insight into how I can relate to the Japanese language as a native English speaker while following a well-thought-out lesson plan.

Mio-sensei has been very patient and encouraging in her lessons; her structure of reviewing homework and words learnt is helpful for me to follow and review. It's only my second lesson but looking forward to many more!
