Hi! My name is Sebastiano, I'm a graduate Master student in Middle Eastern Languages and Culture. I teach Arabic at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and I'm currently applying for a PhD in History of premodern Middle East. I've been studying Persian language for 6 years at Ca' Foscari University, I've perfectioned my Farsi at Shiraz University during a semester course and I've been working for a year as interpreter and translator in a refugee center in Paris, where I translated from Persian Dari to French and vice versa!Me as a Teacher
I am really patient and I like to talk a lot with my students. I try to use accessible materials for my students. I tend to repeat many times the subjects that I believe are the most difficult in a language, but I always listen to my students' needs and questions. I am careful, precise and a very good listener.My lessons & teaching style
In my lessons I use to work on both grammar and language in use. I like to share material on screen to practice reading and translation. I like to talk and to help talking my students. I use my handbooks from university and other books that are easily found online. Also, music, video and social media elements are useful tools for mastering a language, making you jump into the current and most direct use of Persian, so I really like to use these materials with my students, depending, certainly, on their preferences!My teaching material
