Language Enthusiast An ABA Therapist who loves being able to help others in any way possible! I was born and raised in Hong Kong so I grew up speaking English and learned Tagalog afterwards from my parents. I learned French and Cantonese in high school and am currently still brushing up on my skills to reach fluency so I'm on this language-learning journey with you! I am very patient because I understand what it's like to learn a new language, and I'm not that strict when it comes to teaching, especially as I work with kids on the spectrum, patience is vital! I prefer encouraging my students to speak as much as possible -- no matter how broken their sentences are, so that they can get used to speaking the language and eventually won't be afraid to make mistakes since it's part of the learning experience, and ultimately improve their speaking skills. I love talking about anything and everything, even if it's not something I'm well-versed in because I love learning about and discussing different concepts and cultures! I can speak at either a slower or quicker pace depending on what I observe during the class. My style is not letting our classes feel like a 'strict' or 'structured' lesson, it's like a class where you're talking to a friend! I might suggest something we can focus on after assessing your language ability during our first class together!

Great class as always! I had a lot classes with Kani and she is able to find interesting topic to talk about in the beginning of every class, just from the casual greetings. You don’t need to worry if there’s nothing to talk about. I think it’s because she has such great passion to life and eager to get to know and help different people.
