My name is Nina and I am half Italian half Georgian. I have a masters degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and I run a small pesto sauces company here in Tbilisi. I love to travel and meet new people, this is why during one of my travels I decided to move to Tbilisi, in Georgia to discover more about my roots! I am passionate about literature, philosophy and history as well as food, art and fashion!
I have a little dog called Shu, a tiny Maltese that makes trouble around the house and keeps eating my shoes. Fortunately (for Shu) my students really love him, so he has a teacher assistant job to pay for his troubles!
Me as a Teacher
As I moved to Tbilisi, in Georgia, I started to teach Italian in a local school. I was working both with kids, teaching them the very basics of Italian language, as well as senior students. I prefer to work with seniors on an intermediate/advanced level because I like to supply them texts from Italian literature, philosophy or journal articles that we can discuss and understand together. For me the best way to learn a language is by practicing it without any shame for eventual grammar mistakes. When I teach I always encourage my students to speak as much as they can, with no shame for mistakes!
My lessons & teaching style
I structure my lessons depending on the requirements of my students. When I work with intermediate to advanced students I supply them with some texts (from Italian literature, journals and so on) that we can discuss and argument. This is the best way to learn new terms as well as their synonyms. I try to let my students talk and eventually point out some mistakes that they are able to correct themselves most of the times. I assign some homework too that I review with the student the first 15 minutes of the lesson.

Nina has instructed me in a few classes now and she is a pleasure to work with. She is calm, polite and clear on instructions and corrections. Nina organizes our time efficiently and I feel improvement after each class.

Nina is an extremely kind, competent, and helpful instructor. She's easy to talk to and provides a supportive environment for learning Italian - my confidence has grown in just a few lessons with her. I highly recommend Nina, she'll make you feel at ease and help develop your knowledge of this beautiful language.

Nina is really fun to talk to! She's been able to identify topics where I struggle and prepare a lesson to help reinforce the rules, but she is also flexible enough to just talk about a topic if I feel inspired to tell a story or discuss a topic. The atmosphere is always relaxed and she definitely knows her stuff!

Another really great lesson with Nina, she is extremely likeable and very adaptable. She is able to respond almost immediately to requests for particular types of resources and activities. She is full of good ideas and is able to point me in the right direction for resources. I thoroughly recommend taking a lesson with her.
