Ciao! Sono Elena, your guide to Italian language and culture. Born in Venice, I blend my love for art, philosophy, and history into every lesson. As a CELI examiner and CEDILS-certified teacher, I specialise in helping students: - Prepare for exams (CELI/CILS/B1 Citizenship) - Explore Italian literature and cinema - Navigate real-life conversations Fluent in English and French (with a dash of Greek), I adapt to your goals—whether you’re mastering grammar or discussing poetry and cinema. 📌 I write about Italian culture and language on my Substack: Italian Inspirations. As a teacher, I consider myself more of a 'guide' who supports students in discovering the language on their own. I’m committed to creating a comfortable environment where students don’t feel judged for making mistakes, and my focus is mostly on engaging them in taking an active role in the learning process, rather than treating them as 'empty vessels' to fill with grammar rules. I also aim at getting to know my students well so I understand what motivates them to learn Italian in order to create a study plan based on their interests. As I believe that the learning process is like the 'discovery' of a new mindset, I start the lesson with an input (text, image, audio, or song lyrics) that I use to guide my students in 'discovering' the grammar rules behind it.
