Anna

Since beginning lessons with Anna, I have made tremendous progress in learning Ukrainian. Like many English speakers, my knowledge of grammar is weak, but to understand how to use cases in Ukrainian, sometimes you really need to understand the parts of a sentence. Anna is great at teaching this. She is also very responsive to requests. I asked her if we could spend one lesson a week on reading, and she has been super-helpful with that. She even put a huge amount of effort into creating an online reading course built around the classic story "The Little Prince", which I wanted to read. I am so happy I found Anna here on iTalki. She is a gem.

I had the privilege of worked with Anna 3x/week for a little over a month, and I can tell you that that was the best money I ever spent. Anna is exceptional. The quantity of resources in her possession is unheard of, and she uses them to make sure that her students get the best possible experiences during their Russian learning. She has cool multimedia-based lessons and homework assignments, as well. She gives homework if you want homework, and she grades it promptly with clear explanations for mistakes. She also makes it a point to have students talk in the target language as much as possible, but her English is very fluent, so if you a need to switch to English, she can do so easily, though she works to get back to Russian as soon as possible. I would recommend Anna to anyone. I would even recommend her over the majority of in-person instructors. She makes the technology work for her students in a way that in-person instruction never could.

I am not sure, how Anna does it, but after we finish our lesson, I always feel refreshed and have more energy than before. Probably a secret magic. :-)

Another fantastic lesson with Anna, I enjoy being tutored by Anna for several months now. She has the unique skill to create lessons that match your language level perfectly and keep you extremely motivated. She notices what works best for you and adopts the lessons so that you can take a maximum out of it. Contemporary and fun videos, interesting articles and useful textbooks are integrated into her lessons. As a teacher, she is very skilled, likable and also a little bit strict (just as much as you need your language teacher to be in order to succeed ;) After your first few lessons with Anna, you will know exactly why I recommend her strongly to anyone who is serious about language learning.

I really enjoyed today's lesson! We are working through Anna's Просто цікаво beginner's Ukrainian course, and today we focused on verbs to describe activities to do on holiday, and how to form the past tense. Anna's course is very well structured, we always start each lesson with a short conversation, and then a quick review of the previous session. Each part of Anna's course begins with new vocabulary (reading, listening, repeating and also the spelling games help me to remember the new words!), and then various activities including picture matching, reading dialogues and passages, and also exercises for learning any new grammar, plus opportunities to do a bit of writing for homework which she corrects offline. Anna is a very patient and friendly teacher, and has been great at helping me to practice correct pronunciation, and in answering questions during sessions and also offline. I always look forward to my classes with Anna, дякую вам!

Today we continued learning how to talk about the weather and covered some new vocabulary about seasons. I really struggled to remember some of the words but Anna was very patient. We also started a new topic on holidays. Anna has clearly designed her course to build up week by week, and manages to seamlessly integrate opportunities to review previous topics whilst adding in new material. Дякую Анно!
