Hello / Hola a todos los hispanohablantes and SERVUS as they say in Austria. I live and work in the music capital of the world, Vienna. My name is Karl-Heinz. I love learning and teaching, which is what got me interested in italki. My job as a journalist and working for the government brings me into contact with the international press and European institutions, and the diversity of languages in Europe has always been an intellectual bonus in my work. English is the lingua franca in my working environment but I must confess that I call Spanish my secret love. In my free time I like riding my motorbike, playing hockey, skiing and paragliding.Me as a Teacher
I consider myself patient, understanding and organized and I firmly believe that the best way to learn a language is through conversation, just as we learned our communication skills in our mother tongue. It's as simple as that! From my own experience I know the hardships and worries of foreign language learning and understand the challenge, but also the fulfillment that comes with language acquisition. Since there is no one-size-fits-all approach on mastering a language, an effective answer can only be found in individualized and tailored language coaching.My lessons & teaching style
Learning a language is so much more than just memorizing a set of words and sentence structures. An Austrian philosopher once said that "the limits of your language are the limits of your world". I'll try to get you closer to the culture, traditions (plus idiosyncrasies), mentality, other ways of thinking and most importantly the necessary skills for having conversations in German. The usual sources for teaching will be applied and as a special feature I'll offer you a learning programme/strategy I've developed called "BOOST YOUR GERMAN" - a tool you can use outside the classroom that will significantly increase your learning efficiency. We'll focus on topics exclusively relevant to you.My teaching material

Karl is -arguably- the best tutor on this platform! He's very easy to understand (it's so important especially as a beginner!), funny and very nice. It makes learning soo much easier, enjoyable and natural. He thinks that the best way to learn is by immersing yourself but he's doing it in a very approachable way which reduces greatly the discomfort you could have. I didn't feel uncomfortable in any way and it just feels good really to feel like you're progressing while enjoying the process. I can't wait until I get my next talk with him!

Herr Riegler is the easily one of the most engaged teachers I’ve ever come across with. Always ready to correct, but in a very subtle so as to not interrupt the flow of the conversation. I’m progressing at a fast pace and it’s all thanks to conversations and guidance like the ones I receive from Herr Riegler. Super recommended!

The teacher is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to improve their German and practice using the language in real situations. He is always punctual and very helpful, providing all the useful information you need to apply the language correctly in everyday life.
