Hey, everyone! I’m Maiko from Hokkaido in Japan. Previously I worked at a Japanese company for 5 years but now I’m studying to become a Japanese teacher and also planning to learn Japanese-English interpreting and translating. I like traveling outside of Japan and watching horror, thriller, action movies. I also enjoy watching video gameplay commentary. I have lived in New Zealand for 1 year, stayed in Hawaii and Russia for 2 month and been to over 10 countries so far. I love singing and going to Karaoke! When I was a kid, my dream was to become a famous singer. I love talking to people and can’t wait to talk with you about various things !Me as a Teacher
I love talking with people and helping them improve. I am a friendly, interested listener. I would like to make our lessons exciting and fun. You don’t need to feel nervous and embarrassed in our lesson. I am also learning another language, so I understand how difficult it can feel. Speaking is important when you learn another language as I have experienced. Please don’t be afraid to make mistakes, it’s a natural part of learning. As always, thank you! I really enjoy lessons with Maiko and how calm and personable she is. 今日のレッスンはちょっとかんたんです。でもいいです。It is good to review and then have Maiko make it relate to you or the real world which is really helpful. I highly recommend Maiko to anyone looking for a comfortable conversation and building your vocabulary and improving your 日本語.

Maiko is great! Thank you for being so kind, helpful and most of all having a great personality. Maiko will always help me with my broken Japanese when I want to make a sentence. She will say it, type it, and allow me to say it. I really appreciate that. I highly recommend her even if you’re an absolute beginner. She will make you feel at ease and help your 日本語 grow.
