Hello, my name is Yurika. I'm from Okinawa, japan. My hobby is playing the Sanshin, which is a traditional Okinawan musical instrument. If you're interested in Okinawan culture, I can tell you about it. I also enjoy studying languages and am currently learning some Spanish and Korean. In the future, I want to study more languages and travel to various countries. On my days off, I often go to cafes or watch movies on Netflix. Lately, I've been really into Anime and Korean dramas. I studied Teaching Training Course as my major and Japanese Language Teaching Training Course as my minor. I taught English in high school for two years. I have also volunteered to teach Japanese at Japanese conversation circles and Ottawa Japanese language school as an assistant teacher when I was in Canada.
I am good at communicating, very flexible and a fun person to speak with. I would like to provide lessons that meet your needs and your goals. ●Conversation class
The class is focused on Japanese conversation. I offer classes that meet the needs such as wanting to improve their daily conversation skills, wanting to speak only in Japanese, wanting to acquire speaking skills, and wanting to have free talks, etc.
●Beginner to Intermediate class
I will provide lessons based on the student's Japanese level and their needs. It's okay if you don't know Japanese at all. You can start learning hiragana, katakana, how to introduce yourself, how to use everyday greetings and phrases. For those who want to learn from the basics, I also teach basic grammar.My teaching material

I just finished my first lesson with Yurika. I'm very happy I chose her as my first ever Japanese tutor and would be love to do another lesson with her in the future. I definitely recommend her. Here are some observations for those considering paying for a conversation practice:
1. She had many questions prepared for me so there was never any long gaps of silence.
2. Her speech is very easy to understand. She spoke very clearly and not to fast.
3. Whenever I wanted to talk she let me and understood me very well even though I have such broken Japanese.
4. She wasn't rude at all and didn't seem to care when I said something stupid sounding.
5. She was punctual and made sure not to waste any time.

After trialing multiple teachers on italki, I have found Yurika to be the most suited for my learning. Her preparedness for each lesson is impressive; she consistently comes with well-organized materials, and we are currently using material from the Genki 1 textbook.
One of the standout qualities of Yurika's teaching is the ample opportunity she provides for practicing speaking and listening in Japanese. Her method pushes me to my limits, encouraging me to stretch my abilities and build confidence. At the same time, Yurika is very supportive and can seamlessly switch to English if I struggle, ensuring that I never feel lost or overwhelmed.
Overall, Yurika's teaching style is a perfect blend of challenge and support. I highly recommend her to anyone serious about improving their Japanese.

I had so much fun learning with Yurika-san for an upcoming trip to Japan. Her lessons are always exciting and engaging. She uses a lot of cute and fun material good for visual learners and lots of mini quizzes to help the language stick. I always look forward to her class. Highly recommend.
