Native German teacher, living in South Korea, with a linguistics background and 8+ years of full-time teaching experience in various settings. I offer conversation-based lessons and goal-oriented test prep (Goethe/telc/TestDaF), respect learners as individuals, and meet them with openness, curiosity and empathy.
My approach is:
RELATIONAL - I aim to create a relaxed and stress-free atmosphere and genuinely good learner-teacher-relationship.
PERSON-CENTERED - There is not ONE right way to teach. I notice and adjust to your individual needs.
NARRATIVE / CONTEXT-BASED - I believe language is best learned within context, connected to real life, real situations, your experiences, senses, emotions and interests.
'JUST RIGHT CHALLENGE' BASED - I try to provide you with the right amount of challenge, leaving you feeling neither bored nor overwhelmed or frustrated.
As a person, I am calm and creative and enjoy having interesting conversations with nice people.

I think the video expresses very well what Elisabeth offers. Elisabeth has a sharp understanding of the students level, listens carefully and offers useful advice at opportune moments. I was given some excellent feedback and advice on what I need to do to improve my level and will take a lot from this lesson. I've been taking Elizabeth's conversation classes, and I am absolutely happy with her classes. Before, I think I often got too frustrated while practicing speaking since I couldn't really express what I want to say, and the conversation didn't feel so natural and fun. But Elizabeth is super patient and encouraging, and she is extremely good at catching what I am trying to say with my limited German. Her corrections and suggestions are always on point, and she indeed makes the class fun and comfortable. Definitely recommend her class to people who have similar experiences to mine :)
