Hello, my name is Heather. I am a native U.S. citizen from Washington, D.C. and a former attorney who worked with Fortune 500 companies in several industries. These days, you'll find me traveling the world while working with foreign lawyers who wish to improve their legal English skills and gain a better understanding of U.S. laws and regulations. I also work with professionals in various fields who want to improve their business and communication skills. In my free time, I love exploring the world and learning about new cultures. I earned my Juris Doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis (currently ranked 16th in the U.S.). I am also certified with a 120-hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate. I have over 10 years experience tutoring students, individual and in groups, in sessions both live and online. I've worked with foreign professionals as well as with American students as they prepared for university, graduate, and professional school (law and medicine) entrance exams. I offer classes in legal English, business English, academic English, and general conversation skills. I tailor my lessons to the needs, desires, and personality of each student. As I also have a background in psychology, I understand the various learning styles and strive to find the best method for the individual student. This includes getting to know my student as a whole person and finding ways to connect their experience and background to each lesson.
