About Me
italki teacher since Feb 23, 2022InterestsScienceMedical & HealthcareMusicFoodFilms & TV Series
My name is Farah and I'm a native Arabic speaker (MSA-Iraqi-Egyptian dialects). I am a fifth year medical student and I have always been interested in learning new languages. In the process of learning these languages, I knew what works best to learn a new language and I'm delighted to share it with you in your process of learning Arabic.
I enjoy watching movies of all genres, especially psychological thrillers, period dramas and It would be a delight to meet Harry Potter fans here! I also like listening to classical music and pop music from time to time. It would be great if we have common interests to help in your practise in learning Arabic.Me as a Teacher
I think learning a new language opens a door to a new culture. That's why I believe that it's important to put effort in teaching students my language the same way I would want to be taught. I also believe that a teacher who is passionate about the subject is more likely to give you better understanding and love for the language than any other teacher. My lessons & teaching style
I teach organized lessons so every lesson will be a milestone for certain learnt words and sentences. I discuss the goal of the student first and prepare my topics, homeworks and quizzes to be finished at a certain amount of time. Practice has a huge importance and that's why we will use every minute of it for your advantage. You will notice how Arabic will be incorporated in your life after the first lesson as I make flashcards and homeworks so that you don't forget what you learn in the lesson.
The most important thing for me is to know the student's purpose of learning Arabic to prepare the lessons well according to the student's interest. My teaching material

I have studied with Farah for several months. After learning the basics of Modern Standard Arabic, we transitioned to learning the Egyptian dialect. Farah is very calm and patient, which makes it easy to learn. Farah is also happy to answer my questions, and she uses the whiteboard to make sure that I understand the explanation thoroughly!

Farah is a great teacher. She really made me feel comfortable after not being in class for awhile due to sickness. I did not feel overwhelmed or pressured in the class to perform. It is like talking to a friend and feels like a comfortable learning environment. Her customized presentations and materials are very impressive. She is a highly intelligent person and fun to talk to. I have had many teachers across many platforms. I am at over 40+ classes and this was definitely my favourite Arabic class so far! Shukran.

Great lesson with Farah! We spent the lesson mostly doing a review of basic conversation. We also learned about asking questions, and not just answering them. Farah used the whiteboard function to explain, and she used colors to show the different connected pronouns, verb conjugations, etc. It was very effective!

I've had 5 lessons with Farah so far and she's such an amazing teacher! For every lesson we've had together she's taken the time to prepare some very comprehensive learning resources in advance, on different themes e.g. family, emotions, hobbies, etc. I really like how interactive the lessons are, she includes lots of reading and speaking practice, so I can already see that my ability to read and my pronunciation is improving :-). She's so kind and encouraging too, honestly one of the best teachers I've ever had in any field. If you're keen to learn Arabic I can't recommend Farah's lessons highly enough.

Great lesson with Farah! We did a review of material from previous lessons, since we are back from a few weeks off. Since the new italki classroom doesn't seem to have the whiteboard anymore, Farah found a tool online to use instead. We used the tool to practice reading and reviewing. Farah is a really patient and caring teacher!

Great lesson with Farah! We talked about connected pronouns, and saw some examples of that. I asked about negation. Farah had already prepared a presentation on negation, so we used that to learn. Farah made use of the whiteboard and we went through several examples of negating past, present and future tense verbs. These were important topics, and Farah explained them very easily!
