I am a native speaker of Bahasa Indonesia, born and raised in Indonesia. I currently live in Surabaya. Before live in Surabaya, I used to live in Jakarta for 11 years. I am a 4 years experience tutor and certify for BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing/Bahasa Indonesia as second language) and ESL (from TEFL).Me as a Teacher
I love teaching, learning foreign languages, and anything about culture. Now, I am studying Thai and Chinese Mandarin. As a learner myself, I believe that learning language is like marathon. It is a long journey. It needs patient and consistency. Sometimes, it feels lonely and frustrating. That is why, I understand the difficulties of my student when learning a new language. So when I teach my student, I try to be not only a teacher, but also a study partner for my student.My lessons & teaching style
I used to work as people development team in a multi national company. It allowed me to gain knowledge and experience about design learning and help me a lot to understand how to create lesson plan, lesson material, and deliver the lesson effectively in my class.
My teaching style is focus on creating an interactive class with a lot of discussion and practice. In the discussion with my student, I try to explain the language as clear as possible such as: how the word usually used (formal or informal setting), how to understand the grammar rules, and how Indonesia culture influence the language.My teaching material

Diyan is a fantastic teacher! She’s so easy to talk to so I always feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as we work through new vocab. The lessons are really fun and she is always prepared. She’s also really flexible which I love, she’s able to tailor the lessons and vocab as we talk so it feels very natural to learn and builds on previous lessons and concepts in an interconnected way.
