Здравствуйте! Hello! My name is Yulia and I am a certified teacher of Russian language to foreigners. I am originally from the north of Russia, later moved to Moscow to study History in the Moscow State University, and currently based in Cyprus! I was always passionate about learning languages, traveling and exploring new cultures, and that eventually led me to a career of teaching Russian to foreigners! I have a background as an editor in the publishing department at one of the largest museums of fine arts in Russia. My hobbies: history, cooking, traveling, hiking and cinema.

Me as a Teacher

I have a 5+ years’ experience of teaching students from different countries, various backgrounds and of different age: as a private tutor, at the university and at the center for refugee and migrant children. I am a patient and supportive person; I listen carefully to what student wants to achieve with our lessons to make an individual course and to go at student’s pace. As a teacher I focus on creating an encouraging atmosphere where student feels free to speak and also to make mistakes! And I am an enthusiastic languages learner myself: apart from English, I speak Italian, and a bit of Spanish! So, I am familiar with all the ups and downs on the way of learning a foreign language!

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are focused mainly on conversation practice, but I am also happy to provide you with guidance on grammar, and help to improve your reading and writing skills. I love to use authentic materials such as articles, podcasts, videos, etc.: all that helps to immerse in the live context of language and make the lesson fun! If you are passionate about literature, art or films (I am!), we will definitely use it. It will depend on what are you interested in and what do you want to achieve or improve. До встречи на уроках!
