Hi, my name is Yuko. I'm from Nagasaki.
I like traveling, watching Netflix, listening to music, cooking etc.
My family are farmers so I love being in nature. We grow rice, oranges, and some vegetables. I've been studying about kimono(Japanese traditional clothes) too. Beyond language instruction, I am passionate about sharing authentic Japanese culture with learners. My approach combines linguistic education with cultural immersion for a comprehensive learning experience.
I've taught Japanese in Portland, Oregon, US, then I came back to Japan and taught English for a junior high school and elementary schools. Now, I'm teaching Japanese for non Japanese speakers and teaching English for Japanese online and offline. I really enjoy my jobs and am happy to see my student's progress.
My lessons are very flexible. I can change my teaching style depending on the student's level and needs. If you want something more advanced we can have conversations, read articles, practice vocabulary together.
If you consider yourself as a beginner, we can practice hiragana / katakana / kanji, basic vocabulary and conversations, and grammar.
I speak Japanese mainly in my lessons but I can help you in English if you need. Don't worry!
Let's have fun in learning Japanese.
***I only accept the package request from the student who've done lesson with me at lease one time. ***

It was another great lesson! We learned more about grammar and kanji, she would always help me if I was stuck on something I couldn't understand. I reccomend her!

I have taken quite a few classes with Yuko now, and plan on continuing to do so! Each lesson builds upon the last and it is very rewarding to feel my skills and confidence growing every week. It's often necessary to request a lesson a few weeks in advance since her schedule fills up quickly, but it's no surprise why; her classes are always fun and her teaching style strikes a very effective balance of instruction and listening/speaking practice. I look forward to continuing to learn with her!

Had my first trial lesson with Yuko-san. It was a great lesson. The teaching format was structured very well which was very helpful and easy to go through. She even provides PDF copies of the lesson which is useful. Definitely recommend. Looking forward to learning more!
