My name is Haruna. I was born and raised in Japan, and I am a native Japanese speaker who speaks standard Japanese. My hobbies include traveling, cooking, taking photos, and visiting cafes. I also love meeting new people and learning about different languages and cultures.

I completed Japanese Language Teacher Training Course at university, and received a qualification to teach professionally. I have over 3,500 hours of experience teaching Japanese to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels over the past four years. Additionally, while I was in university, I volunteered in the United States to support students learning Japanese. I am also studying multiple languages myself, so I fully understand the challenges of learning more than one language. I was so confident going into our test today but I failed miserably. I know I was close on a lot of it though and Haruna sensei helped talk me through what I was thinking and guided me to the answer. I was trying to explain something like a toddler and she could understand. I think she can read minds. She is an excellent teacher and motivator.

Haruna-sensei was very kind and I appreciated her thorough questions in order to get to know me and my learning goals. Though it was difficult to express myself at times, she listened patiently and asked clarifying questions to make sure she understood me. Haruna-sensei adjusted quickly to my level, and I felt that she was very willing to accommodate my requests for the lesson style. She provided useful information in the chat as well. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to study Japanese!

Today I was able to hold a lengthy conversation with Haruna sensei. I could do well on my vocab test, but for some reason I just couldn't understand the reading passage of the test. At least this test was a lot better than last one. I'll figure it out if it's the last thing I do.

It was nice to catch up with Haruna sensei and talk about our goals for the year. I'm feeling confident that at this pace I will pass N2 this summer. It's very helpful having such a good teacher to help me along and keep me motivated.
