My name is Haruna. I was born and raised in Japan, and I am a native Japanese speaker who speaks standard Japanese. My hobbies include traveling, cooking, taking photos, and visiting cafes. I also love meeting new people and learning about different languages and cultures.

I completed Japanese Language Teacher Training Course at university, and received a qualification to teach professionally. I have over 3,500 hours of experience teaching Japanese to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels over the past four years. Additionally, while I was in university, I volunteered in the United States to support students learning Japanese. I am also studying multiple languages myself, so I fully understand the challenges of learning more than one language. Haruna sensei does an amazing job of teaching without having to revert to English for me, though she can speak and understand it well. As a teacher myself, I admire how she can say something in a variety of ways until something clicks. While I still self-study, these classes have absolutely changed the way I learn and view Japanese. Haruna sensei is the best thing to have happened to me in terms of learning the language. Her kindness and sense of humor are icing on the cake.

Haruna-sensei was very kind and I appreciated her thorough questions in order to get to know me and my learning goals. Though it was difficult to express myself at times, she listened patiently and asked clarifying questions to make sure she understood me. Haruna-sensei adjusted quickly to my level, and I felt that she was very willing to accommodate my requests for the lesson style. She provided useful information in the chat as well. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to study Japanese!

We spent a lot of time talking day. I've been reading more lately and watching anime. It's been fun being able to read and watch for longer periods of time without having to look up words constantly. It's crazy how much I have improved in just the last year. I really thought I was just not cut out to learn after being here for so long and not improving, but Haruna sensei's structure is clear and helps motivate me to study more.
