My name is Haruna. I was born and raised in Japan, and I am a native Japanese speaker who speaks standard Japanese. I lived abroad in Seattle for six months learning English. My hobbies include traveling, cooking, taking photos, and visiting cafes. I also love meeting new people and learning about different languages and cultures.

I completed Japanese Language Teacher Training Course at university, and received a qualification to teach professionally. I have over 3,500 hours of experience teaching Japanese to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels over the past four years. Additionally, while I was in university, I volunteered in the United States to support students learning Japanese. I am also studying multiple languages myself, so I fully understand the challenges of learning more than one language. I was trying to explain a game to Haruna sensei today and had to dig deep into the well of vocab. It's fun talking with her and trying to piece sentences together. We spend a lot of time talking and it makes me more confident speaking with others.

Haruna-sensei was very kind and I appreciated her thorough questions in order to get to know me and my learning goals. Though it was difficult to express myself at times, she listened patiently and asked clarifying questions to make sure she understood me. Haruna-sensei adjusted quickly to my level, and I felt that she was very willing to accommodate my requests for the lesson style. She provided useful information in the chat as well. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to study Japanese!

I have taken my studies a lot more seriously over the last couple of months and have really shown improvement. Even when I'm a little off my game and getting frustrated, Haruna sensei is encouraging and patient.
She also keeps such great track of everything. I never have to worry about trying to remember a phrase I struggled with or where we left off in the last lesson. It's just pick up and go. Haruna sensei is a true professional and a blessing of a teacher.

Today we began part two of testing. I can see my latest efforts of studying are paying off. Thanks to Haruna sensei, I was able to have a few conversations when I went on vacation this last week. Even though I have a long way to go, it's nice to look back and see the progress I have made.
