It was a good first lesson! It's hard to gauge my language level because I don't have much experience speaking tagalog but better on listening---but he was able to work with me and I was able to feel comfortable enough to speak and use some of the vocab I knew to make mistakes and try out speaking. He is very friendly and I hope to continue my lessons further here on Italki with Jonathon
