I'm a native Cebuano speaker and I'm fluent in English and Tagalog.
I am a risk-taker. I tried different fields for a living. I am a hardworking human ready to sacrifice and give up for the sake of my loved ones. I am a brave and loving mom of multiple.
I love to travel and talk with everyone. Working in different industries and cultures ( Japanese, Chinese, and American) taught me about good relationships despite differences.
I know how it feels like to have very limited knowledge about a language which makes it hard to express thoughts, ideas, and feelings properly. I've been there. NO WORRIES! You got me and I got you!Me as a Teacher
I am fun to talk with, a good listener, and patient.
As a teacher and your good friend, I will make sure that all your concerns about your learning will be addressed and that every lesson is detailed.

Making connections and a good relationship with my student is very important to me so that we can focus on learning. We will engage in interaction to minimize the shyness and improve their conversational skills. But still, I consider the needs of my students, if they prefer visual, verbal, or physical activities, so whichever you prefer, just let me know. I will be using endless sorts of materials to teach you the language, then having a good chat before the lesson is necessary.

Always a fun lesson and conversation! 😆 Mary Jean pushes me to speak in as much Tagalog as I can, really trying to limit my English. Because I’m trying to improve my comprehension/conversation skills, she will speak to me like a native speaker. But if she sees I’m having some difficulty, Mary Jean will rephrase her sentence or explain to me the new word/phrase. I get so much out of our lessons and we have fun! ✌🏼😄

We had a fun class today! If you’re looking for a more fun and casual environment to practice conversational Tagalog, I would definitely recommend class with Mary Jean! She is very engaging and will ask you questions and share some of her stories/experiences as well. As an intermediate learner, I do feel pushed in a good way because Mary Jean will speak at her normal pace and use colloquial words/expressions and if ever I don’t understand something, she will repeat, slow down, and/or explain. If you’re looking to improve your Tagalog, I definitely recommend class with her! ✨🧡
