About Me

Hi, my name is Yulia! I live in Lviv (Ukraine). Ukrainian is my native language, which I love, improve and use in my work and daily life.
Although I am an economist by profession, I have been studying English for a long time, since the high school. In addition, I am currently obtaining a bachelor's degree in English linguistics. That is why we will always be able to understand each other and clarify some difficult moments in English, regardless of your initial level of Ukrainian.
I am a person with a sense of humor and a wide range of interests, from economics, which is my profession, to music, traveling, sports, and so on. So we will always have something to talk about during our lessons :)Me as a Teacher
I am a professional economics teacher and have been working at the university for over 16 years. I conduct group and personal classes with students, so I have mastered professional teaching skills and interesting modern approaches to holding lessons during my work.
My goals as a teacher are:
- provide you with structured materials for a comprehensive understanding of the logic and rules of the Ukrainian language use;
- help you overcome the language barrier;
- increase your vocabulary;
- teach you to read and understand various texts;
- help you with specific tasks in Ukrainian (writing a resume or essay, preparing for an interview, creating a questionnaire, speech, presentation, etc.).My lessons & teaching style
The structure of the lesson will depend on your goal and preferences and is always based on an individual approach.
I will be happy to practice speaking with you, discussing economics, politics, music, cinema, travels, sports, etc. I will help you with learning grammar, using presentation materials for better understanding. If the main goal of our lesson is listening, we can dive into the music, cognitive audio, and video. At your request, we will watch movies, read books, articles, and news, followed by our discussion of thought-provoking moments.
Where necessary, I will also provide you with homework that will help you better understand the material covered.My teaching material

This September marks a year of learning Ukrainian with Ms. Yulia. Starting was hard because I was nervous, but I’ve never regretted it. I’ve gained confidence, begun speaking with native Ukrainians, and even had dreams in Ukrainian language twice!
I’m so thankful for Ms. Yulia’s patience, immediate corrections, and clear explanations. Her lessons feel more like friendly chats than formal classes, making learning enjoyable. I am studying not only Ukrainian but other languages as well, and so far Ms. Yulia is the best teacher I’ve had on Italki.
Although I have always known that I am Ukrainian by blood, the Ukrainian language wasn't my native one. Thanks to Ms. Yulia, I feel a much stronger connection to my Ukrainian roots and a closer bond with the Ukrainian people. I’m really grateful for all her support and guidance.

Yulia is one of my favorite teachers because she is very skilled at keeping conversations alive. Sometimes with other teachers I have to think about some topics in advance so that we will have something to talk about for 45 minutes, but with Yulia it's very easy and natural, so I'm never worried about having things to talk about with her.
