Hi! I'm Avonlea, and I'm a professional English teacher for speakers of other languages. In university, I also studied English education for non-native speakers. Until recently, I lived in South Korea for two years, teaching English! My experience was unforgettable. This is my dream job! English students inspire me daily, and I'm so lucky to be able to share my native language with such passionate people. Personally, I love crafting, dancing, and traveling. Teaching English is my dream job, so I spend a lot of extra time preparing my lessons with passion. I love researching the best examples of authentic language, and sharing them with my students. In an elementary school, you might even find me playing with students during break times. They're so fun! I try to be a welcoming and supportive teacher, who shows pride in all of her students. Because of my primary education experience, I like to keep my lessons lively and fun. I never lecture, and I very rarely incorporate silent work. I like to incorporate fun into every lesson, because students learn best when they are rewarded often. I teach an arsenal of vocabulary and grammar games that I use in my own language study too. In conversation classes, it's important to me for the student to choose topics. Boring or irrelevant topics will not help the student learn! Depending on the student's preference, I challenge them with questions and answers, real-time translations, and I actively teach living language, so when the student is in the real world, they can speak well.My teaching material
