Hailing from Gijón city (Northern Spain), and having a standard Spanish accent, I'm an atypical Spaniard to some extent, as I don't particularly enjoy football, wine and a few other aspects of Spanish culture (I do enjoy tasting tapas from time to time though 😉). However, having lived in China for several years provided me with a broader perspective and mindset that are very helpful to me, especially when it comes to teaching others. In addition, I have a penchant for irony and double meaning jokes, which is something very Northern Spanish, and that can provide some insight into the subtleties of the Spanish language.
Me as a Teacher
I have taught in this platform for nearly ten years, so I can consider myself a veteran 🏅Furthermore, I'm patient, easygoing, empathetic, and I know how to meet and fulfill student's needs effectively, as I have taught people from vastly different backgrounds, levels and objectives. As a former language student myself, I can totally empathize with those walking this path which is oftentimes not that easy. Consequently, I derive satisfaction from sharing the knowledge, wisdom and experience I have gathered both as a student and a teacher within the field of linguistics.
My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are heavily based on oral interaction from day one, and grammar is taught in an entertaining and effective way, with abundant examples and excellent materials. Also, my knowledge of other languages (English, Chinese and French) aids me on placing myself on student's shoes and be aware of the differences between Spanish and their mother tongue, so as to avoid possible obstacles that might arise en route.

I’m so glad I found Miguel! He’s an excellent teacher, and our classes are always engaging, enjoyable. They're something I genuinely look forward to each week. His teaching style is clear and effective, and he knows exactly how to challenge me at the right moments. It’s been such an exciting journey completing Level A1 with him! Looking forward to our future classes.

After many lessons with him, I’m really happy I found such a friendly, attentive, and professional teacher. His lessons are well-organized, fun, and he adapts perfectly to any level. I truly feel I’ve made progress and always look forward to the next lesson. He even pushes me to speak more and feel more confident with my Spanish.

I think a couple of months learning with a teacher are enough to get a reliable impression of the way they work. If you are looking for a capable teacher, you've found one. Miguel is very professional in organising the content of the lessons and incorporating everything essential aspect of the language. He also has broad interests which enables him to talk about lots of different topics and makes the lessons engaging and fun.

Miguel is a very dedicated tutor, patient and kind with students. His lessons are well-organized and incorporate a mix of grammar / reading / listening / speaking, which are essential for learning any language. I have progressed rapidly under his tutelage and am planning to put what I have learnt into practice when I visit Spain next month!
Miguel 老师很棒。他为人友善,很有耐心,并且处处为学生着想。上课时他讲解语法、阅读、听力和口语等 — 这都是学习语言的基础。在他的指导下,我进步得超快,想必对下个月西班牙旅游有所帮助。
