My name is Nevena and I can help you learn and improve your Greek and Serbian.😊
I come from Serbia and live in Greece. I have a Bachelor's degree in modern Greek language and literature at the Belgrade University of Philology, and have additionally completed two international programs in Greek at the Aristotle University and ΙΜΧΑ (Institute for Balkan Studies) - levels C2 and C1. I am currently doing my Master's degree in History, Anthropology and Culture in Eastern and Southeastern Europe at the University of Macedonia.
I am a passionate language enthusiast and know fully well all the wonders and struggles of learning a new language. But fear not! It is all just a game.😉Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I find that the most effective way to learn a language is to fully immerse oneself in the local culture. Although grammar is a ~boring~ but necessary part of any language learning process, listening and speaking are just as important, if not even more so.
I have been teaching Greek and Serbian for more than two years.
My Greek classes are a perfect fit for beginners and intermediate students, as I have learned the language myself and know a perfect way to get you out of the trenches. 😎 My Serbian classes are better suited for advanced students who are looking for conversational classes. However, I offer beginner levels as well, and I use a special beginner-friendly book.My lessons & teaching style
In my Greek classes, depending on which type you choose, we will focus on all the difficult aspects of grammar, and you will get plenty of worksheets and homework to help you better understand the structure of the language. If you find grammar boring, you can always choose a more relaxed - conversation-based class where we'll focus on listening and reading.
As for my Serbian classes, I offer both conversational as well as structured, grammar-driven classes. I firmly believe that the only way for someone to master a new language is by carefully choosing the right way to do so, instead of blindly sticking to old-fashioned "rules". So, together we will customize the classes to suit your needs!My teaching material

After a 30-min trial class I was able to solve pretty much all my doubts related to reading greek and do some practice. Nevena was paying attention to my mistakes when reading, gave me the necessary space and at the end reviewed the consonant sounds I had more issues with.
I will book my next class with Nevena!
