Professional Translator with a Handful of Years of English Tutoring Experience Hi, I'm Josh! I've spent a lot of my life pursuing different perspectives of the world, which has benefited significantly from my pursuit of understanding different languages. In my spare time, I like to play video games, hike, or go off and explore something interesting. As a teacher, I am patient. I vividly remember how much patience I've needed in my own language-learning journeys, so it's something I like to offer students. Apart from that, I like to emphasize using one's own interests and hobbies in learning a language, so I often spend some time getting to understand my students' interests and using them as topics of discussion. I like to have a little bit of structure and a lot of room for flexibility. I normally prepare a little bit more material than is needed in case of any lulls in conversation, but, if possible, I like to just let conversation flow and see where it takes us. If we run into any difficulties, I like to structure subsequent tutoring sessions to address those difficulties and allow my students to have an easier time talking about topics that they're interested in.
