I'm a native Dane & American (US father) who grew up in West Denmark and moved to Copenhagen as a student where I graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a master's degree in Political Science. During my university years, I also studied French and German. Later I was a language officer in the Danish military for five years where I specialized in Arabic and the Middle East. So it's safe to safe that I love both teaching and learning languages I have a broad array of interests we can, such as traveling, sports, music, political events, food, technology, movies, and general cultural topics. Given that I know several languages, I am able to understand the unique as well as common aspects of the Danish language in relation to others and to highlight those. As a tutor, I would also look for gaps in the student's language ability and help fill those out. My approach is to always be positive and encouraging so that the student looks forward to each session and feels the joy of progression in the language. I have had many language teachers and tried different methodologies throughout the years, and I try to imitate the best teachers and apply the approaches that I feel have been the most productive. I favor a conversational style on a shifting array of topics, and I like to include fun elements like music videos or magazine articles on topics that interest the learner.
