FYI: NOT TAKING NEW STUDENTS AT THIS TIME
I'm a native Dane & American (US father) who grew up in West Denmark and moved to Copenhagen as a student where I graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a master's degree in Political Science. During my university years, I also studied French and German. Later I was a language officer in the Danish military for five years where I specialized in Arabic and the Middle East. So it's safe to safe that I love both teaching and learning languages
I have a broad array of interests we can, such as traveling, sports, music, political events, food, technology, movies, and general cultural topics.
Me as a Teacher
Given that I know several languages, I am able to understand the unique as well as common aspects of the Danish language in relation to others and to highlight those. As a tutor, I would also look for gaps in the student's language ability and help fill those out.
My approach is to always be positive and encouraging so that the student looks forward to each session and feels the joy of progression in the language. I have had many language teachers and tried different methodologies throughout the years, and I try to imitate the best teachers and apply the approaches that I feel have been the most productive.
My lessons & teaching style
I favor a conversational style on a shifting array of topics, and I like to include fun elements like music videos or magazine articles on topics that interest the learner.
I remain flexible as I know that every person learns differently, so if the student would like help with homework or prefers to focus on a topic (like traveling to Denmark, or preparation for a Danish language test), then I would customize the topics and homework towards this end goal. Likewise, if the student prefers to learn in a specific way, such as rote memorization via flashcards or listening exercises, then I would prepare the sessions in this manner.

Explanations are extremely easy to understand and enjoyable. I definitely feel motivated to work on the language outside of class as well. 100% will be booking a lesson again!

William has excellent skills in pedagogy. I have more than 14 years of teaching experience and I’ve never seen any teacher with such a natural ability to empathize with the student, and adapt to their needs. His capacity to dissect the language on the spot and provide you with clear, simple rules to follow is of unparalleled expertise. It is evident to me that William is an enthusiastic educator who will be an asset to anyone trying to learn Danish. Your success is a priority, and he has the desire to help you achieve it in the most efficient way possible.
