Karibu! I’m Agnes, a native Kenyan teacher passionate about unlocking the beauty of Swahili and Gĩkũyũ through culture-rich lessons. Whether you’re learning for travel, heritage, or fun, I specialize in making these languages come alive with real-world conversations and vibrant traditions. My background in Business Administration taught me the power of clear communication—now I channel that into patient, personalized teaching. Beyond class, I’m a bookworm, nature lover, and advocate for connecting through language. Let’s turn words into bridges together!
Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I am patient, supportive, and focused on helping my students achieve their language goals. I understand that every learner is unique, so I tailor my lessons to match your individual needs, learning style, and pace.
In my classes, I prioritize practical learning through conversations, real-life scenarios, and engaging exercises. I aim to build your confidence in speaking and understanding Swahili, Kikuyu, or English, while also making the learning process enjoyable and interactive.
I believe in creating a positive and comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
My lessons & teaching style
My teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and adaptable. I believe every student has unique needs, so I tailor my lessons to fit your goals and learning pace. Whether you're a beginner or advanced learner, I focus on practical, real-life conversations to help you communicate confidently.
For Swahili and Kikuyu, I incorporate cultural elements to make learning enjoyable and relevant. For English, I emphasize grammar, vocabulary, and fluency through discussions, role-playing, and fun exercises.

Agnes is really great as a tutor. She's patient and she took my goals into consideration for that and created a custom plan for me! We are making great progress and it's due to her attentiveness to the needs of the student. Thank you :)

Another great Swahili lesson!! She provided an audio recording in Swahili along with the caption. We went over it today in class, and it was so helpful. Finding comprehensible input like this in Swahili can be difficult. It was nice to have quality audio that I can save and practice. She answered all my questions and helped me learn grammar and vocabulary in context. Agnes’ lessons help me grasp concepts quickly and o feel more comfortable with the language every time. I was so pleased that I am scheduling a second Swahili lesson this week in addition to my upcoming Gĩkũyũ lesson. 10/10!!

Aggie always teaches me so much cultural context in our classes! Not only do I get to connect with language, but also with stories of current and past practices. She keeps my motivation to learn way up!

I had such a great trial lesson with Agnes! She’s super friendly and made me feel comfortable right from the start. She explained everything really clearly and kept the lesson relaxed and engaging. I didn’t feel nervous speaking at all, which is rare for me. I’ve already booked more lessons and I’m really looking forward to them. If you’re thinking of learning Swahili, I’d definitely recommend her. 5 stars all around!!!
