Philosophy university lecturer with a degree in classical languages (Bonn, Germany) I am a PhD lecturer of Philosophy. I teach in the Universitiy. I used to teach in the school. I want to invite you to explore the amazing world of classical languages with me. In my classes I encourage the students to develop an active attitude towards the understanding of how the studied language works. One way to do this is to confront them with different examples of the given content of one lesson and to let the students formulate the rule of the phenomenon before explaining its grammar. The study of ancient languages is a great way to broaden the frames inside which one thinks. They exhibit a variety of grammatical phenomena which are broadly absent in most modern languages. As a lecturer of philosophy I think the study of languages in general is a great opportunity to broaden the frames inside which one thinks. Especially ancient languages are appealing in this regard, because they exhibit a variety of grammatical phenomena which are broadly absent in most languages nowadays. In my classes I like to encourage the students to develop an autonomous and active attitude towards the understanding of how the studied language works. One very appealing way to do this is to confront the students with different examples of the linguistic phenomenon which represent the grammatical content of the lesson and to let the students formulate the rule of that phenomenon.
