Hi there! I'm French Canadian and I am passionate about languages, but also about people!
I'm a very enthusiastic and warm person who likes to connect with others. There's no reason to be shy when learning a language with me!
I've majored in translation at university, and am now pursuing a post-graduate diploma in second language education.
I've been teaching French for 6 years now, and plan on teaching for many more! I've worked with adults, in small groups and 1v1 session, and with kids in French immersion in a rural town in the Northwest Territories (that was a great adventure!).
I'm also currently learning Mandarin Chinese (so if you struggle with English or French, I understand!)Me as a Teacher
"You can't become good at something you don't do", so in my class we'll make sure you get a lot of speaking in! :)
I use a communicative approach and comprehensible input -- fancy words that only mean that most of the class will happen in your target language and that you will do a lot of talking. Of course we'll also learn grammar rules, but we'll make sure you can also use that knowledge *in conversation*.
I'm very friendly and patient, so don't be shy to come try a class with me! My lessons & teaching style
We will focus mostly on speaking and on fluency. My goal is for you to feel as comfortable as possible using the language! I like to talk about the things that interest YOU and to focus on what is relevant to you specifically.
As a fun side, I sometimes bring language games, as it is always a good way to bring out your most relaxed self and get your speaking flowing!My teaching material

French teacherTeach French grammar with a dynamic communicative approach, lead guided discussions and help students understand and correct their own mistakes, and work in a team with other teachers to ensure proper follow-up of student records.

French language assistant - Canada's OLPPrepare and lead French language activities for grade K-6 classes who are in the French immersion program. Teach through games and play, working alongside the class teacher. Maintain positive discipline and defuse conflicts between students.
