About Me

I'm Sarah. I've been teaching Italian and English for over 30 years, and I still enjoy every lesson.
I trained formally as a teacher with a background in pedagogy, learning psychology and educational methodology. That means I don't just know the language: I know how people learn it, where they get stuck, and how to help them move forward.
My lessons are calm, structured and built around you. I work with adults and young learners at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced students preparing for official exams.

I believe mistakes are how you learn, and I've never once made a student feel embarrassed for getting something wrong.
I use positive reinforcement as a conscious method. Progress happens when you feel safe enough to try, to repeat, to ask the same question twice. I create that space.
After 30 years I can read a student quickly, I know when to push a little more and when to slow down. My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are built around you, your level, your goals, your reason for learning. I use textbooks alongside my own materials: audio dialogues, Italian songs, authentic texts for Italian; structured course books supplemented to target your specific gaps for English.

Sarah is an amazing teacher. She's so warm and energetic, and I loved every minute of our lesson. We chatted in Italian, but when I ran out of words, she was right there to help me through the sentence. I could only do this because she made me feel comfortable. She really is a great listener which made all the difference. I can't wait to schedule another lesson with her.
